Three cantilevered steel discs rise from a single support at the center of Dusterberry Park, a busy public park in Fremont, CA. The sculpture functions as a clear landmark, guiding visitors toward the plaza from multiple entrances while rewarding closer inspection with etched glass imagery of local flora, fauna, and historical references. Sunlight passing through the glass casts shifting color and pattern onto the pavers below, creating an experience that changes throughout the day.Designed for a multi-generational park audience including families and children, this project demonstrates our ability to create durable, low-maintenance outdoor work that reads as both a visible landmark and an intimate, discoverable element within a natural park setting.
