Commissioned by Oregon Arts Commission and the University of Oregon, for the historic business school in Eugene, All That Is Solid Melts Into Air features two grids in two stairwells. Each grid contains 100 handmade resin cubes. Each cube equals one dollar by stacking coins or folding bills into animals (fish, elephant, eagle) and everyday objects (shirt and tie). This Best in Public Art Award Winner considers the physical variety and assigned value of currency.
